European DNA of My Neon-Art
Elvis neon commissions are currently taking shape in the studio 🔥
Every piece is built with three distinct European elements:
🇮🇹️ Bespoke Italian Oak frames
🇩🇪 German precision-engineered aluminium
🇬🇧 British hand-crafted real glass neon tubes
What’s interesting is that I’ve been making work this way for years — long before I knew anything about my own heritage. A few months ago I did an Ancestry DNA test and discovered that my genetic makeup is a 3-way blend of Italian, German/Northern European, and British. In other words… my art has literally been reflecting my DNA all along. This unexpected discovery feels like a full-circle moment. It perhaps explains why I’ve always been drawn to this exact combination of materials — the warmth and character of Italian oak, the clean precision of German aluminium, and the vibrant, glowing quality of British-crafted neon.
These new Elvis pieces continue the evolution of my “Saints, Sinners & Rebels” artwork theme — bold, masculine portraits that explore fame, fall, and the human stories behind cultural icons. Elvis in his 1960 de-mob mugshot, holding that glowing “Sorry, No Vacancy” neon sign, feels particularly poignant right now. The work is both luxurious and personal. It carries craftsmanship from across Europe while telling human stories — exactly the direction I want White Light Gallery to grow in.
