About:The original artworks in this series were a collab with pele himself and personally co-signed and premiered at the landmark exhibition “Pelé: Art, Life, Football” at Halcyon Gallery, London, in 2015 to celebrate the football legend’s 75th birthday. The works were later exhibited at the National Football Museum in Manchester (2017–2018).

Inspired by Andy Warhol’s iconic 1978 Athletes series, Louis Sidoli reinterprets the Brazilian icon through a bold, contemporary lens. The imagery draws from a rare 1972 vintage Puma football boots advertisement and an original 1970s Pelé-endorsed Spalding “Handler” football. The artwork also features his legendary No. 10 shirt.

The title pays playful homage to Warhol’s famous “15 minutes of fame” quote. As Warhol once said of Pelé: Instead of 15 minutes, he would be famous for 15 centuries — a prediction that perfectly captures the timeless greatness of the greatest player the game has ever known.

Rendered in Sidoli’s signature mixed-media style on brushed aluminium with high gloss, this piece fuses pop art energy, sporting heritage, and modern industrial edge into a powerful celebration of football royalty.

About:This portrait reworks the classic image of ‘Saint Sebastian’ as modern football legend: Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro, nicknamed CR7. In classical paintings such as the Italian Early Renaissance master Andrea Mantegna, Sebastian is tied to a column, shot full of arrows for staying true to his Christian faith under a Roman emperor who hated Christians.

Here, Ronaldo takes Sebastian's place – tied to the goalpost at Old Trafford (The Alex Ferguson Stand in the background) Arrows pierce his body, each fletched with tabloid newspaper clippings labeled with words such as "Overpaid," "Diva," "Toxic," "Washed," "Penaldo," and "Ego." They're the shots fired by the press, media, rival fans, and critics who've slated him over the years, especially during his second stint at Manchester United (2021–2022), when the criticism ramped up against him.

The shadowy figures in the foreground are the tabloid "archers" taking their potshots. But Ronaldo stays upright, staring ahead - unbreakable. Into his 40s, he keeps scoring, breaking records, and proving he's the GOAT. Just like Sebastian who survived the arrows, Ronaldo bounces back stronger. This portrait is not just for United or Ronaldo fans. It’s about resilience - standing tall when you are facing criticism and betrayal but never giving up!
